George Pajon Jr. is not your typical guitarist. His unique ability to maneuver from one musical genre to another, is backed by his extraordinary results. The Black Eyed Peas, known for their energetic stage shows, which employ a live band (uncommon in hip-hop), are not your typical hip-hop group. Proof of this lies in their current release 'Bridging the Gap' (Interscope) which is climbing charts all over the world, and contains the hit single 'Request Line' (featuring Grammy Award winner Macy Gray). Throughout the album George experiments with tones, textures, and sounds that are not typically found in this genre.

BIOGRAPHY

George is a self-taught player who learned the guitar by listening to greats such as Carlos Santana and Stevie Ray Vaughn. Along the way George has learned to play many different styles, from R&B and Funk, to Rock, Reggae, and Country. The various styles that George has played throughout his career have a large impact on the music that he writes today. The mixing of these different styles creates some unique and unexpected sounds, which are evident on 'Bridging the Gap' (the Latin sounds of 'Tell Your Mama Come', the jazzy 'Li'l Li'l', and the use of a sitar on 'Request Line').

George has had the opportunity to share the stage with many of music's great performers, from Wyclef to No Doubt. He has also recorded music for soundtracks for some of today's biggest films (including the blockbuster 'Scary Movie'). He continues to write for various recording artists, including superstar Macy Gray. While on the road with 'the Peas' (as they are known to their fans) George is preparing to record a new live album.

Whether it's albums for the Peas, film soundtracks, writing for recording artists, or creating works for national and international television, George is becoming known in the industry as the man who can get the job done.

PEDALBOARD

George currently uses Guyatone pedals on stage and in the studio. His live board contains the Guyatone Flip Series VT-X Vintage Tremolo and the Maxon OD808 Overdrive (also available from Godlyke Inc.).
